Hello Gorgeous Gents,

This months donations are going to MOVEMBER!

Grab a seat, and sharpen your ears. This is important information that you need to know or someone you care about may need to know. There are 2 topics being covered here.

1. Prostate Cancer.

2. Depression and Suicide

In New Zealand, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, around 3,000 registrations each year and about 600 deaths from prostate cancer each year (based on the statistics from the Ministry of Health 2007 – 2009 which show an average of 3082 registrations and 602 deaths).

Men, it’s time to get that check up. Look at it as maintenance. Your body is your vehicle and you need to look after it, plus those who care about you want you to be well.

Next is Men’s Mental Health.

In New Zealand we are losing men to suicide at a frightening rate that can not continue on. The number of men experiencing depression is also on this rise.

You gorgeous men are simply to precious to be loosing. We care about you, we want you, we love you and we need you.

Dear Men, when we are anxious or depressed it can change the way we think, feel and act. Dealing with the tough times can be hard but you’re not alone. Take a small step by getting ideas or support on how to take care of yourself. If you think you might be experiencing depression, head over to (https://depression.org.nz) and take the test and find out more. It’s totally confidential and remember, You Are Not Alone.

Speaking from my heart now, both of my uncles committed suicide. I was 10 years old when my first uncle did and then 20 years old when my 2nd uncle did. The impact is forever there. I miss them. I love them. I need them.

I did not know it at the time, but the message forming in my life as a result of their deaths was that should I face challenges in my life then this was an acceptable method of dealing with those challenges. For me personally it would take a further 15 years to undo that inherited message and teach myself new ways of coping.

Dear gorgeous Men, Im not exactly sure how we got this place but I do have a hunch. That hunch tells me that society has some pretty fucked up expectations on you and how you are supposed to be, act, think, and not feel as a man.

I want to see more men and women tell you, show you and support you to talk your real thoughts and feelings out loud, show your real thoughts and feelings out loud, be your real self out loud.

You are supposed to show your feelings

You are supposed to cry and cry with those who you love

You are supposed to need rest and take rest

You Are Human, and you are wanted, you are needed and you are loved.
